AsiaMart^® hosts a meeting for a delegation from Ningbo Free Trade Zone of Zhejiang, China in Boston.

Boston, MA, August 16, 2001—Mr. Edward Soong, CEO of Anew Technology Corporation, hosts a meeting for a delegation from Ningbo Free Trade Zone (NFTZ) of Zhejiang, China with a small group of local businesses and investors from Boston.

Ningbo delegation was headed by Mr. Bin Yu who is the Director of Investment Promotion Bureau of NFTZ. He was accompanied by two other senior officials. The objective of the delegation's visit to Boston was to solidify the partnership with AsiaMart^® and to introduce the investment environment and benefits of NFTZ to the local business community. The meeting was held at the office of Hill and Barlow LLP in downtown Boston.

After a brief introduction of NTFZ delegation, Mr. Bin Yu presented NFTZ’ general information, the main differences, functionalities, and directions. Today, there are more than 2,000 companies from 34 countries set up their operations in NFTZ with total investment amounted to $1.5 billion USD. The delegation showed their sincere welcome to AsiaMart^® and other Boston business organizations and hi-tech professionals to come to NFTZ for any types of economic and cultural co-operations and exchanges.

After the meeting, the delegation went to visit the world renowned MIT Media Labs. More discussions were conducted during and after the dinner reception. The trip was a success with a concrete plan of actions to be followed.

AsiaMart^® looks forward to assisting US companies in exploring business opportunities in China. Services include strategic and planning consulting, joint development, sourcing, and searching and evaluating investment projects. Delegations will be formed by AsiaMart^® to visit China’s new high tech development zones through out the country.

AsiaMart^® will continue to invite Chinese trade missions to come to this country. As our next coming major event, a delegation from Nanhai Software Science Base of Guangdong will come to Boston in mid-September.
